Karon White is a multitalented artist born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. His musical background sparks from his family whereas his grandfather was a vocalist and musician who toured with “The Persuasions” ( An A cappella group from Brooklyn, NY that began singing together in the mid-1960s). Karon’s father Kentrell was a solo Artist who got the opportunity to perform for Kobe Bryant’s family and performed on BET networks 106 & Park. Karon started singing, dancing, and writing when he was only 8 years old. He gained his experience from being in choirs, bands, music programs, and had vocal coaches.
One year before graduating High School he was asked to join a R&B group by his former management “N.V.E” and for the love and passion he had for singing and performing he joined the group and they named themselves “M.T.B” ( Meant To Be ). Their harmonies grasped the eyes and ears of thousands of people by singing on trains and different corners in the city, also by performing at numerous local shows and posting singing videos on social media. The Group signed their first distribution deal with TwentyTwo Recordings which led to their debut single “Do Your Thing” premiering on BETjamz and airing on Boom 103.9 and Power 99 radio. From that point on the boys were a new topic of conversation in the industry. They later got the honor of performing for Gladys knight and with Brandy, Youg Joc, Sammie and many more big entertainers. Later endeavors for the boys were them getting signed to LA Reid’s label “Hitco ” where they changed their name to “Project 2ONE5” representing their home town.
M.T.B worked artists, writers, and producers like Hitmaka, The Dream, Roddy Ricch, VEDO, Troy Taylor, etc. The group got recognized by Kanye West, Teyana Taylor and Cardi B by posting covers of songs “Issues / Hold on” by Teyana Taylor and “Please Me” by Cardi B & Bruno Mars. The videos both grossed over 7 million views each. M.T.B released their biggest Single “Sexaholix” which peaked over 732,000 streams on YouTube and over 221,000 streams on Spotify, the boys were becoming known across the globe. M.T.B performed artists like, Trey Songz, Eric Bellinger, Megan Thee Stallion, Moneybagg Yo, City Girls, Armon & Trey, Tank, Jacob Latimore and many more. M.T.B also performed at the BET Experience with DDG, Queen Naija, and Lil Mosey. The group had a number of viral moments with Jamie Foxx, LaLa Milan, Trina and a plethora of huge celebrities. Regretfully the group ended up separating due to quite a few unforeseen circumstances.
