Defonix has dropped consistently since 2016, sometimes dropping multiple projects within one year, 2021, Star67, PowernLove, Hooked On Fonix. Gemini is Defonix’s 11th project and a representation of the musical abilities & the life of Defonix. It is a reminder that there is the gem 💎 of life within us all & that we must let our stars shine bright in all circumstances. It is our gift to the world & our fuel to better ourselves, our people & our surroundings. Gemini has many different sounds as defonix showcases his unique, versatile style adapting to different genres & songs on the project. Self Love is one of the highlight songs of the entire project. It’s a club joint with R&B influences that will get any club hype in seconds. There are many features on the project as well; Flint Heem, Tez Money, Byrie Irving, Trejo El Mágico, Surreal Ramen, Knightheart, T. Diamond, Donny Knotz, Roach Beatz, Evan Cleveland of FullTymeStudios, Majic Juan, InSession Productions, Benji Nemo, Sachy, Benji Yang, & level. Gemini & the sound of Defonix can best be described as trap blues.
On this project, he definitely created his own lane, Sonically. Gemini combines club bangers, conscious lyricism, and R&B classics. Hits like; Pumpn, Self Love, I’ve Cold, I 195 West & Anotha Phone make it hard to change each track. Defonix currently touring all over the country promoting his new project & working on his next release, set to drop later this year, 2022. Defonix is currently promoting his project, Gemini, shooting videos & hitting shows heavy in the Detroit, Michigan area. Defonix is presently in the third round of the Next Up competition affiliated with DJ Khaled & the orbiiitapp. “Big things are in the works. I’m laser-focused for real. I just stay grinding daily, and somewhere, I look up and see the vision take on a life of its own, so I don’t question what works. I understand it; just continue pumping”.
