Virginia has always been known for its rich musical history. Home of the great Missy Elliot, Pharrell, and many other talented young artists just waiting to shine. Its complex and diverse style is what makes Virginia artists so unique. Sedric Taylor, aka Big Sed, is just another bi-product of the musical scene of Virginia.
Big Sed, often compared to Rod Wave & Mo3, is one of Virginia’s up-and-coming artists. Finding a sound that resonates with fans can be brutal for some artists. Still, Sed found his sound using many of his own personal experiences as inspiration. “Using music to help or touch someone has always been my top priority.” Says the Emporia native. When asked why he enjoys making music, he stated, “I do it to touch people; I also do it for the love of the craft and because it’s like my own journal.”
Music wasn’t always Sed’s first love, as football had been his passion for many years. But as one chapter closes, another one opens. Big Sed has released countless songs on SoundCloud and has moved over to all the major streaming platforms. His debut project first dropped in 2021 titled, “Hard Times Don’t Last.” Sed is always looking to continue to spread his influence on the music industry and his fans. One of his biggest motivators is “let it be known to everyone that he deserves a shot.” His motivation to create and influence the cultures aligns with his drive to never release subpar music. All the details he expressed in his music can be noticed by us and his fan. Big Sed plans on dropping several singles and even a project this upcoming year. One of his most anticipated singles includes “a thousand lies,” a song previewed on his Instagram a few months back.
