Nicolette is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter born and raised in Florida until December of 2021, when she moved to Charlotte, NC, in pursuit of something “bigger than herself.” Nicolette has been songwriting since the age of seven, with her first song being proudly titled “Birds and Butterflies,” but it wasn’t until January of 2022, after going through a breakup of a four-year relationship, that she decided it was time to pursue her passion and turn those daydreams into reality. Nicolette was always drawn to music from an early age. “When I was little, I used to be pushed around in the shopping cart at the grocery store and would be singing at the top of my lungs to everyone in there.” The singer/songwriter recalls a story her mother tells her often; however, it wasn’t until one afternoon, after catching a glimpse of a performance her mother was watching, that the singer/songwriter knew that she too, wanted to one day perform in front of crowds of people.
As Nicolette began her journey of songwriting/performing, she was inspired by artists like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Little Mix, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, and so many more. Nicolette shares that she was drawn to each artist for different reasons: their lyrics, ability to connect with their audience during their performances, or stage presence. Although Nicolette had many inspirations, she was explicitly inspired by Taylor Swift in both her songwriting abilities and live performances. Nicolette was drawn to Taylor’s abilities to describe a story, emotion vividly, and an experience with captivating wordplay, similes, and metaphors; however, it was mainly Taylor’s honesty and authenticity that caught the eye of the young singer/songwriter and helped influences her style of music, “I loved that I was able to relate to Taylor’s experiences. It felt like she wrote those songs about me, and it was very comforting to have songs that could help me through those confusing teenage experiences and breakups.” Nicolette shares that her goal is to do that, but in her unique way, “I want to create music that can help people.” Some other plans include working with her biggest influencer Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, BlackPink, and many more, as well as sharing her music worldwide, doing tours, and meeting her fans. Finally, she shares one specific goal that is unique to her, “one day, I want to perform at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC, to a sold out
Nicolette is currently working on an EP which will be released later this year. The singer/songwriter refers to her music as “songs that are written about the raw and vulnerable thoughts, emotions, and experiences we all go through that make us human.” The singer/songwriter also states that she likes to “write songs about topics that aren’t usually accepted in day-to-day conversations in hopes of giving a voice and providing comfort to anyone who can relate.” Her ability to connect with her listeners, whether it’s through witty lyrics or by sharing her vulnerable thoughts and experiences, is what Nicolette considers for herself “the most important aspect of being a singer/songwriter.” Finally, she shares that her dream is to “make it big and inspire as many people as possible.”
